October 3, 2023
Changes are an inevitable part of life. My photography group, FotoPosa, has dwindled down to just three of us. We were originally a group of eleven. People have moved away, quit the group, and sadly, one member died.

Tenaya Lake

My sister crossing over the creek to get to the back side of Tenaya Lake.
On this trip, our small group was shooting landscape photography (my favorite) at Tenaya Lake in Yosemite. I asked my sister to join us and to join FotoPosa. That would make four members.
Instead of digging out her digital camera, she took photos using her smart phone. Nowadays, smart phones take phenomenal photos.
I’m still using my Nikon D3300 from 2016. I think I mentioned awhile back that I reverted to shooting in automatic mode.
The Tenaya Lake photos were shot in automatic mode with the image quality set at JPEG fine.

Stately Pleasure Dome
During the month of October, I practiced with shooting in manual mode again, and I was pleased with the outcome.

Pywiack Dome
Although it’s easy to just point-and-shoot the camera, I have not been happy with the results of those photos. It’s time to change. Time to go back to manual mode. Progress is impossible without change.

Looking east at Tenaya Lake from Olmsted Point.
Until next time…happy shooting.
It is a cold rainy day here so I’m particularly delighted to see these fair weather , dynamic images of Tenaya Lake and scenery ! ; )

Hi Janet.
Oh yes I concur. The manual mode much more vibrant. π I so love the fall yellow leaves with the suns lower light. Makes for soothing image. Keep shooting!
